SUMMARY:ISA Talk: Mastering PID Control: Implementing Cascade Control for Improved Disturbance Rejection
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr. Bob Rice – Control Station will be attending the Wilmington Section ISA\nLocation: ACE (700 Creek View Rd\, Newark\, DE 19711) \nRobert Rice\, PhD is the vice president of engineering at Control Station. He is Control Station’s thought leader\, and he has published extensively on topics associated with automatic process control\, including multi- variable process control and model predictive control. Dr. Rice has been the recipient of numerous awards for innovation\, and for his contributions to the advancement of the process industry. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University\, and his MS and PhD from the University of Connecticut. \nAbstract:\nThe process of implementing cascade control doesn’t have to be difficult. There are proven methods for designing and tuning cascaded loops for effective disturbance rejection as part of an advanced control strategy. During this session\, Dr. Bob Rice will review the fundamentals of the cascade control architecture and a repeatable method for tuning PID controllers. \nRSVP: (labrunak@ace-net.com)

SUMMARY:How Stiction Disrupts PID Control — and What to Do About It
DESCRIPTION:Stiction is a common yet often overlooked issue that silently sabotages control performance. This webinar will teach you how to identify and address stiction effectively\, restoring precision and reliability to your controllers. Gain a deeper understanding of the causes of stiction in valves\, dampers\, and actuators. Learn about stiction’s impact on system dynamics\, and develop practical strategies to mitigate its effects. \nDesigned for process control engineers and valve maintenance personnel\, this session provides step-by-step guidance and real-world examples to help you tackle stiction head-on. Don’t let this hidden killer undermine your plant’s performance—gain the tools and techniques you need to stay in control. \nRegister now to learn how to find\, measure\, and resolve stiction to keep your control systems performing at their best.v
