Control Station at MEICA Expo 2026
Control Station will participate in MEICA Expo 2026, a leading event focused on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation technologies for industrial facilities. The conference brings together engineers, system integrators, plant operators, and technology providers to discuss practical solutions for improving reliability, efficiency, and performance across water, wastewater, energy, and process industries.
During this year’s event, Damien Munroe, Vice President of Partner Development at Control Station, will present a technical session on how controller performance directly impacts plant profitability through the use of a new KPI for process manufacturers.
Presentation
Title:
OEE for Process Manufacturers: Linking PID Controller Performance with Plant Profitability
Presenter:
Damien Munroe — Vice President, Partner Development, Control Station
Abstract:
Just as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) allows discrete manufacturers to assess asset performance, Overall Controller Effectiveness (OCE) provides process manufacturers with a single KPI for evaluating the performance of PlantPAx® and other regulatory control systems.
This presentation introduces the OCE methodology and explains how controller availability, performance, and quality can be calculated using existing process data from FactoryTalk® Historian and other plant data sources. The session includes real-world case studies showing how poor PID performance impacts variability, throughput, and energy usage — and how improvements in controller tuning can be directly linked to financial results.
Attendees will learn practical methods for connecting PID loop performance with operational KPIs and plant profitability, enabling more effective prioritization of control improvement efforts.
