Overall Controller Effectiveness (OCE)

Apply PlantESP’s OCE metric to benchmark performance at loop, unit, and plant levels. Leverage each score to better understand current performance and to track the impact of your site’s process improvement initiatives.

The Overall Controller Effectiveness (OCE) metric, introduced in PlantESP 25.1, evaluates real-world control loop performance at both loop and unit levels. Unlike traditional metrics that assess behavior in isolation, OCE delivers a composite score based on three factors: percent time in normal mode, percent of data within an acceptable error band (“good error”), and percent time not constrained.
