Where Can I Purchase RSTune?

Nowhere…Because RSTune and RSLoop Optimizer Were Discontinued in 2011! Rockwell_Automation311

Product names often outlive the products themselves.  Investments made to establish a product and a brand can have a lasting impact.  Those of a certain age would be hard pressed to forget Twinkies – a dessert that filled the lunch boxes of millions of ecstatic kids.  Even though Hostess Brands remains a going concern, their golden creme-filled sponge cake sadly went the way of the Dodo.  While no longer on quick mart shelves, the Twinkie name lives on.  The same seems to be the case with certain investments made by Rockwell Automation in the naming of its PID controller tuning solutions.

Many of you may recall that Control Station enrolled in the Encompass Partner Program operated by Rockwell Automation in 2009.  LOOP-PRO TUNER was introduced later that year as the OEM’s preferred loop tuning software.  Both RSTune and RSLoop Optimizer were officially ‘silvered’ shortly thereafter.  Like Yokogawa and NovaTech, Rockwell Automation recognized the value of LOOP-PRO.  It was then and remains today a uniquely powerful tool for modeling complex process dynamics and optimizing PID control loop performance.

Consider the following aspects and advantages of LOOP-PRO TUNER:

  • Basic Through Advanced

TUNER easily connects live to a process with the help of either RSLinx or FactoryTalk.  It also supports offline PID tuning for all controllers branded by Rockwell Automation.  If you need advanced loop diagnostics, then there’s TUNER Plus which also includes an extensive library of PID algorithms from other OEMs.  If you want to access those other controller online, then consider TUNER Premium.

  • Made for the Real-World

Side-by-side testing showed that TUNER can handle the complex dynamics of real-world production processes.  Equipped with the proprietary non-steady state modeling innovation, it can accurately model data that’s riddled with noise and oscillations.  It also works equally well with integrating and non-integrating processes.

  • Commitment to Innovation

Whereas RSTune failed to remain current with innovations from Rockwell Automation, TUNER has stayed in synch.  TUNER has been re-released in order to support new signature files such as the Add On Instruction (AOI) or the newest PIDE.  Options for licensing have steadily expanded to accommodate the needs of the Toolkit Program as well as enterprise users.

  • Intuitive Software Design

At the end of the day TUNER proves time and again that it is easy to use.  That aspect alone has earned TUNER numerous industry awards.

If you are either looking for RSTune and RSLoop Optimizer or looking for their replacements, don’t be dismayed as you’ve come to the right place.  TUNER is available from Control Station and the global network of Rockwell Automation distributors. It’s feature set is ideally suited to the challenges of industrial automation.

Whether your automation platform includes assets from Rockwell Automation, Yokogawa, Emerson, Honeywell, Schneider, or another OEM, there is a TUNER solution just right for you.  Click HERE to connect with a member of the Control Station team and to learn more.
