Abstract:
PID control loops seldom operate in isolation, and loop interactions can amplify disturbances and create plant-wide oscillations that reduce stability and performance. This presentation reviews PID fundamentals and introduces a repeatable six-step tuning methodology that can be applied to PlantPAx® and other industrial control platforms.
The session demonstrates practical methods and tools for identifying oscillations, diagnosing loop interactions, and applying corrective tuning strategies that improve disturbance rejection and overall controller performance. Attendees will gain hands-on insight into techniques used by process engineers to stabilize complex control environments and reduce the need for operator intervention.
This session is intended for process control engineers, automation engineers, and practitioners responsible for tuning PID controllers in industrial applications.
