December 27, 2018 – Control Station Announces 2019 Practical Process Control Training Calendar

Workshops Fill Need for Industrial Skills Development Across the United States and Europe

December 27, 2018 – Manchester, CT – Control Station today announced plans to host over 30 training workshops during 2019. The company’s plan targets major manufacturing centers located across North America and Europe. The plan capitalizes on growing global demand for industrial training and skills development that enables the optimization of production processes.

The range of training-related events hosted by Control Station has steadily expanded as the company continues to extend its portfolio of Practical Process Control courses. Offerings now include both theory- and application-based workshops. With an emphasis on proven techniques for diagnosing and optimizing PID control loop performance, the company’s courses address a critical need among process manufacturers for improved process control. All courses leverage Control Station’s Hear-See-Do Methodology which enhances the learning experience and maximizes new knowledge retention.

“Global demand for our training services has grown steadily as manufacturers have recognized the value of effective PID control on plant operations,” commented Rick Bontatibus, Control Station’s Vice President of Global Sales. “We’re equipping production staff with essential insights and proven techniques for improving the fundamentals of their plant’s performance.”

In 2018 participation in Control Station’s training events reached an all-time high. The company successfully hosted dozens of two- and three-day workshops during the calendar year, and it realized a significant increase in workshop enrollments. In particular, average enrollment in regionally hosted Techniques for Applied Process Control workshops grew 15% even as the number of course locations expanded. In addition to workshop attendance Control Station also generated higher participation levels in presentations delivered by the company’s staff at industry conferences and trade shows. The recent Automation Fair hosted by Rockwell Automation showcased the market’s interest in PID control and process optimization. Out of over 40 non-Rockwell Automation affiliated presentations delivered during the show Control Station registered the highest level of attendee participation.

“Technicians and engineers are hungry for simple approaches that they can apply back at their plant – the kind of approaches that make an immediate and positive impact on performance,” shared Bob Rice, the company’s Vice President of Engineering. “Whether in our workshops or presentations we look to satisfy that demand by offering common sense techniques and addressing real-world situations.”

Control Station originally formed in 1988 as a technology-based training services company. The original Practical Process Control curriculum emphasized an intuitive and repeatable method for assessing process dynamics and tuning PID controllers. The curriculum was among the first to incorporate interactive process simulations, and it enhanced the instructional capabilities of university faculty. The use of simulations is at the heart of the company’s Hear-See-Do Methodology as it provides a highly relatable training experience. Today the Practical Process Control curriculum is licensed to 100s of colleges and universities worldwide.

The 2019 training schedule and details of the various course offerings are available for review on the company’s website.
