December 28, 2017 – Control Station Expands Market Reach with Newest Release of Award-Winning Software

Enhancements to LOOP-PRO Address of Post-Validation Requirements of Life Sciences Manufacturers

Manchester, CT – December 28, 2017 – Control Station announced the newest release of its award-winning LOOP-PRO™ TUNER process modeling and PID controller tuning software. Enhancements accompanying the release strengthen the software’s support of controllers from major automation OEMs that target requirements imposed by regulatory agencies. The enhancements target the needs of manufacturers in the Life Sciences and other highly regulated industry segments.

The Winter 2017 Release of LOOP-PRO TUNER includes enhanced support of industrial controllers, including Global Engineering Modularity Standards (GEMS) controllers from Rockwell Automation. GEMS controllers are used widely by Pharmaceutical manufacturers along with other Life Sciences segments. GEMS controllers utilize a sealed block structure that assures consistent, tamper-proof application. Their ability to restrict adjustments aligns with post-validation requirements imposed on manufacturing processes by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other governmental agencies.

“Investment in product innovation remains central to the company’s growth strategy,” commented Rick Bontatibus, Vice President of Global Sales at Control Station. “Today’s product release allows us to satisfy the unique application requirements of the rapidly growing Pharmaceutical market segment while also delivering enhanced functionality to our extensive base of customers.”

Pharmaceutical and other Life Sciences manufacturers are required to comply with the FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations. The regulations seek to prevent contamination of products during the manufacturing process through environmental and procedural controls. In particular the regulations require manufacturers to conform to extensive process validation and change control practices thereby limiting variability in production which can lead to inconsistencies. With its support of GEMS and other industrial controllers LOOP-PRO now aligns with the government’s post-validation procedural requirements, creating new opportunities across the Life Sciences sector.

The release also provides feature enhancements that enrich LOOP-PRO TUNER’s utility while maintaining the software’s distinctive ease-of-use. In particular the software now offers improved support of multiple, concurrent instances. The enhancements are of particular benefit to advanced applications such as Cascade Control where the analysis of numerous, interacting control loops is involved. Functionality associated with IMC controllers was also incorporated, unlocking the full of the highly popular control block structure. Collectively these improvements bolster LOOP-PRO’s value across all sectors of the process industries.
