February 26, 2020 – Control Station Monitoring and Analytics Solution to be Featured During PI World 2020

PlantESP Helps Global Manufacturer Sustain Optimal Performance

Manchester, CT – February 26, 2020 – Control Station today announced that the company’s PlantESP solution will be featured during the PI World 2020 conference and exposition hosted by OSIsoft. The presentation will highlight PlantESP’s role in enabling Cargill to sustain optimal production performance on a global scale. Cargill utilizes PlantESP to monitor and analyze control loop performance at over 85 production facilities worldwide.

Cargill was selected to present during the annual conference from among numerous users of OSIsoft’s PI System. Specifically, Cargill’s presentation addresses the challenge of sustainability as it relates to performance improvement initiatives. Process manufacturers routinely see performance gains return to sub-optimal levels due to a lack of both continuous monitoring and analysis of the underlying regulatory control systems. Cargill implemented PlantESP in order to actively monitor key performance metrics and to equip production staff with operational intelligence.

“PlantESP satisfies an essential need among process manufacturers for timely and actionable performance insights,” shared Dennis Nash, President of Control Station. “With its intuitive design and seamless integration with the PI System, PlantESP is uniquely positioned to help manufacturers mine their data and uncover opportunities for sustainable performance improvement.”

A growing number of manufacturers look to the PI System to aggregate and organize disparate sources of sensor-based time-series data. As in other industries manufacturing is increasingly using data as a source of operational intelligence that facilitates continuous and sustainable performance improvements. Analytics solutions such as PlantESP allow manufacturers to transform their raw process data into actionable insights. With its focus on control loop performance, PlantESP complements other traditional asset monitoring and predictive analytic solutions.

PlantESP is an analytics technology that targets the performance of a production facility’s numerous PID controllers. It leverages existing process data that is stored within the PI System or other data historian. Through the application of key performance indices and advanced forensic tools, PlantESP identifies negative trends, isolates root-causes, and recommends issue-specific corrective actions. According to Research and Markets the global industrial control and automation market is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 8.5% during the period of 2019-2024.

PI World 2020 is expected to draw over 2,000 engineers and data analysts from around the world and across the process industries. The conference and exposition are scheduled for late March in San Francisco, California with Cargill’s presentation scheduled for Wednesday, March 25. In addition to supporting Cargill’s presentation, Control Station will be a featured in the event’s exhibition hall. More information on PI World 2020 and Cargill’s presentation is available on OSIsoft’s corporate website.
