February 28, 2018 – Control Station Engineering Executive Honored with 2018 Game Changer Award

Bob Rice Recognized with Industry Award during Annual Connected Plant Conference

Manchester, CT – February 28, 2018 – Control Station today announced Dr. Bob Rice’s receipt of the 2018 Game Changer Award. The award is presented annually to individuals who have led the development and adoption of digital solutions within the power and chemical process industries.

Dr. Rice was among a select group of innovators honored during the 2018 Connected Plant Conference hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the company’s Vice President of Engineering, Dr. Rice holds primary responsibility for overseeing the development of Control Station’s growing suite of software-based solutions. In particular the company’s flagship PlantESP control loop performance monitoring solution has vaulted to the top of the market under his leadership. PlantESP is a plant-wide process diagnostic and optimization platform technology that proactively identifies, isolates and characterizes a wide range of issues that negatively affect production efficiency and throughput.

“Control Station is viewed as a leading provider of process diagnostic and optimization solutions largely due to Dr. Rice’s innovative vision and his commitment to innovative product design,” shared Dennis Nash, President of Control Station. “Much of the company’s steady year-over-year growth can be credited to his many, meaningful contributions.”

PlantESP leverages process information that is stored within a production facility’s existing data historian to uncover opportunities for potential improvement. As a technology for optimizing a production facility’s regulatory control systems, PlantESP enables manufacturers from across the process industries to proactively identify and resolve issues that would otherwise undermine production performance and asset reliability. Significant gains in performance from improved production quality and throughput to decreased energy consumption and unplanned downtime have been documented by Control Station’s customers. Originally launched in 2010 PlantESP has been deployed successfully at facilities located on five continent.

In its second year the Connected Plant Conference advocates for the use of innovative digital technologies that facilitate sustainable improvements in plant safety, efficiency, and reliability. The conference is co-hosted by Power magazine and Chemical Engineering magazine. Both publications are widely recognized for their industry advocacy and for the advancement of digital technologies.
