January 30, 2020 – Control Station Continues Global Growth with Strong 2019 Export Sales

Exports of Analytics and Optimization Solutions Outpace Industry Forecast

Manchester, CT – January 30, 2020 – Control Station today announced another record year of sales supported by strong exports and steady growth in the licensing of the company’s process diagnostic and optimization solutions. The company’s performance reflects overall growth in the industrial control and automation sector and increased global demand for process and energy efficiency solutions.

Full year exports of Control Station’s solutions expanded at nearly double the rate of the company’s domestic sales. While Canadian manufacturers remain the dominant consumer, others from the process industries with operations in Asia Pacific and the Middle East contributed heavily to the company’s steady export trend. Since 2015 Control Station’s exports have expanded at a cumulative average growth rate (CAGR) of over 25% due in large part to increased adoption of the PlantESP monitoring and process optimization platform.

“Demand continues to increase for technologies that address the problems of production inefficiency and unplanned downtime,” shared Rick Bontatibus, Control Station’s Vice President of Global Sales. “With our unique focus on the PID and control loop performance, we’re complementing other established technologies and providing new insights that drive meaningful economic gains.”

Similar to other Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 solutions, PlantESP is a platform technology that both proactively monitors control loop performance and facilitates plant-wide optimization. It leverages existing process data that is stored within a production facility’s historian, and it complements both regulatory and supervisory control solutions from other automation suppliers such as ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and Yokogawa. Through the application of advanced analytics PlantESP identifies negative trends, isolates root-causes, and recommends issue-specific corrective actions. According to Research and Markets the global industrial control and automation market is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 8.5% during the period of 2019-2024.

“Control Station continues to increase market share particularly in the global arena for advanced analytics and process optimization,” commented Control Station’s President, Dennis Nash. “As a company, we expect to accelerate growth both domestically and internationally as new capabilities are brought to market and as our network of global distributors expands.

In 2018 Control Station was recognized by the US Small Business Administration as Exporter of the Year for the State of Connecticut. The company was subsequently invited to present at the 2020 National Small Business Exporter Summit scheduled for March 25, 2020 in Annapolis, Maryland. Mr. Nash will join other executives from across the United States to share best practices for driving growth in exports. With offices in the US and Ireland, Control Station has successfully deployed its solutions to customers located in over 60 countries.
