Engineers’ Choice Recognizes Continued Investments in Product Innovation and Value
November 21, 2011 – Control Station today received notification that LOOP-PRO Tuner (Allen-Bradley Edition) was selected as a finalist for Control Engineering Magazine’s 2012 Engineers’ Choice Award. Award recipients are chosen annually by the magazine’s subscribers and based on their impact on the automation industry at large.
LOOP-PRO Tuner integrates seamlessly with other process control assets from Rockwell Automation using either RSLinx© or FactoryTalk® Gateway. The software supports both Logix-based programmable automation controllers and MicroLogix controller algorithms. It has become the preferred PID controller tuning software for many of the largest process accounts supported by Rockwell Automation.
The Company’s patent-pending Non-Steady State (NSS) Modeling Innovation equips LOOP-PRO licensees with significant technical and economic advantages when tuning dynamic processes. LOOP-PRO software eliminates the need for a steady-state condition prior to the performance of traditional bump tests. As a result, LOOP-PRO can accurately model and rapidly tune PID controllers in a broader array of industrial applications, including normal operations as well as the start-up and commissioning of production processes.
LOOP-PRO Tuner is as flexible a process optimization technology as it is powerful. The software can connect to live process data or it can access historical data stored in a customer’s plant historian. Like all LOOP-PRO products, TUNER is capable of accurately modeling process data while controllers are operated in either open- or closed-loop. The software was designed to automatically recognize control block structures from Rockwell Automation-branded PLCs, and it supports newer Add-On Instructions (AOIs) typically used by OEMs.
Control Station’s technologies are consistently recognized for innovation, economic value and ease-of-use. Other LOOP-PRO products were the recipients of the Engineers’ Choice Award in both 2006 and 2010. LOOP-PRO is the only two-time winner of Chemical Engineering Magazine’s Vaaler Award (2007 and 2009). Voting for the 2012 award recipients will be conducted thru December 15, 2011.
