Techniques of Advanced Regulatory Control builds on the foundational capabilities of the PID to explore a range of advanced applications for augmenting control.
It is a training and skills development workshop that reveals the limits of basic PID in the face of noise, nonlinearity, and loop interaction while exploring how to stretch those limis through application of filtering, gain scheduling, and other advanced configurations. Like others, this workshop is hands-on and highly interactive, utilizing real-world process simtuions to both showcase critical concepts and to engage participations in the application of new knowledged.
Thirty-two (32) hours delivered over four (4) eight-hour days.
Twenty (20) hours delivered over four (4) five-hour days.
This theory-based workshop is intended primarily for Controls Engineers, Process Controls Engineers, and other staff who are responsible for the design, implementation, and management of a production facility’s process control strategy.
Prerequisites: Participation in Techniques of Applied Process Control or other similar course required.
