Joint Venture Enhances Support of European and Multi-National Process Manufacturers

February 25, 2016 – Control Station today announced a joint venture formed with IS Automation that strengthens support of the company’s growing base of European and multi-national clients. Registered in Ireland, Control Station Limited now serves as the primary product distribution and services delivery center for the company’s European operations.

Europe and America are the two largest markets for industrial control and factory automation. While both are considered mature regions for process manufacturing the opportunity for Control Station to grow remains robust. The company’s portfolio of technologies enable process manufacturers to improve production efficiency and throughput. Control Station has experienced significant growth over the past three years. That growth coincides with the expansion of its product portfolio and the addition of a global solution partner network. In particular, IS Automation contributed to a rapid increase in the company’s European business activities. The joint venture builds upon recent successes with Control Station’s multi-national customers.

Technologies that improve awareness and facilitate optimization have a critical role to play especially in mature markets like Europe,” shared Damien Munroe, Principal and General Manager of Control Station Limited. “We’ve a strong record of helping process manufacturers to improve production efficiency and throughput. The opening of this office simply allows us to be more responsive to our customers’ needs and to further enhance their competitiveness.”

Demand for Control Station’s process diagnostic and optimization solutions has grown steadily on a year-over-year basis particularly among multi-national process manufacturers. On a worldwide basis the company’s software solutions have been deployed at facilities located in nearly 50 countries. The increase in global demand has been facilitated by a combination of Control Station’s OEM partnerships and an expanding network of solution providers. Air Liquide, BASF, Lafarge, and Nestle are among Control Station’s many multi-national customers headquartered in Europe, providing a solid foundation for continued growth.

The establishment of a local presence signals our commitment to the region and an important group of existing customers,” stated Dennis Nash, President of Control Station, Inc. “We’ve invested in the development of a best-in-class product portfolio, and now we are committing in kind to the delivery and support systems that will help our European customers to succeed.”

Control Station’s portfolio of process diagnostic and optimization solutions enable process manufacturers to identify, isolate and correct issues that negatively impact production efficiency and throughput. In particular PlantESP™ actively monitors the performance of PID-based control systems on a plant-wide basis. It systematically identifies issues, isolates root-causes, and recommends appropriate corrective actions. PlantESP capitalizes on process data that is stored in a production facility’s existing data historian such as OSIsoft PI and Proficy Historian from GE Intelligent Platforms, or that is accessed live using connections to one or more OPC servers. Largely due to its diagnostic capabilities and intuitive design, PlantESP has quickly established itself as the leading solution for control loop monitoring.

LOOP-PRO™ is the award-winning PID tuning solution developed by Control Station. It is the only suite of control loop tuning products proven to accurately model highly variable process dynamics associated with both integrating and non-integrating production processes. The software’s proprietary modeling feature eliminates the need for first establishing a steady-state prior to performing dynamic tests. LOOP-PRO is private-labelled by both Yokogawa and NovaTech Process Solutions, and it is the only tuning solution referenced by Rockwell Automation. The software supports the algorithms of all major PLCs and DCSs.

Launch of the joint venture will be highlighted during this year’s Hannover Messe global automation conference and trade show. Hosted annually in Hannover, Germany the event is the premier industrial fair. Scheduled for April 2016, this year’s event is expected to draw over 220,000 attendees. Automation technology and solution providers from over 70 countries will participate. Control Station Limited will be located in Booth C69-2 of the Instrumentation, Sensors & Controls Pavilion located in Hall 11.
